    SENIORS & PHOTOSHOP with Bob & Angie Alberts

    Bob Alberts photographed his first Wedding in 1990 and worked as a part photographer until 1997 when he purchased his first studio in Lexington.  During the 9 years he spent in Lexington, Bob received 10 national photography awards for Wedding & Children’s photography.

    In June of 2006, Bob and Angie moved to Ogallala, NE and now operate Alberts Photography.  Since then Bob has refined his Senior Photography to make that a major portion of their business. Angie has become our main retouching & special effect artist creating awesome effects that “wow” our clients.

    Bob served on the board of directors for the Professional Photographers of Nebraska for 8 years and was the President in 2008.  Angie is currently serving as the fellowship chairman for the PP of N.

    In this class, Bob will discuss his indoor and outdoor lighting & posing techniques.  We’ll cover High Key set up, using reflectors, will be working with some senior images in Photoshop to show you how we get some of the effects that the seniors love!

    Julie Klaasmeyer owns and operates j.klaasmeyer portrait design, a 9,000 sq ft boutique studio located in Paola, Kansas.  Julie's passion for art started when she was young and has taken her through projects from scrapbooking to cake decorating with many other projects in between.  She combined this passion for art with her love of photography and opened her doors nine years ago.  Julie is dedicated to providing only the finest for her clients and consistently re-develops her product line to offer new and fresh art for them as well.  She uses primarily natural light and loves to incorporate digital art and image design into her work flow.  Julie has taught classes and workshops all over the country and has given programs for PPA and WHCC, her photo lab.  Her images have been displayed in PPA Loan collections over the years, PPA magazine, WHCC photo booth, GW Moulding, and many background companies as well.  Julie has earned several Fuji Masterpiece awards, Kodak Gallery awards, 10 judges ribbons, and was named 2009 Kodak Photographer to watch.

    Steve Kelly

     

    Steve began his photography career in 1973 (yes he is that old) attending Hawkeye Institute of Technology (now Hawkeye Community College) in the photography program.  Steve graduated from Hawkeye in 1975 with an Associate Degree of Applied Arts in Photography.   After managing several studios in the 70’s and then free-lancing doing weddings, he started at American Professional Color Corporation, now American Color Imaging in 1986.  In 1993 he started traveling for ACI doing outside sales and traveling 4 states.  Steve has been in hundreds if not thousands of studios over the years.  With that experience, he brings the knowledge of what it takes to keep your studio alive and customers coming in your door.  He will make you think about how to relate to your customers and ideas on how to keep them coming back.
